Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai is one of the most expensive projects in the history of Bollywood. However, the makers have managed to recover a handsome amount from non-theatrical sources.
The production cost of the film is 130 crores while 20 crores have been spent on marketing. This does not include Salman Khan’s fee as he will share profits. YRF has recovered around 80 crores by selling satellite and digital rights. Approx 20 crores have been recovered by music and videos.
Apart from that, Tiger Zinda Hai has also got a rebate from Abu Dhabi government for shooting the film there. Apparently, all the shooting expenses have been born by the local government for promoting the Emirates brand. Then there are merchandising and ancillary rights which should account for approx 15-20 crores.
Tiger Zinda Hai will get a minimum share of 50 crores from overseas markets. In India, the film has collected 174 crores in just five days. Thus Tiger Zinda Hai is already a profitable venture for YRF.
