Thugs of Hindostan has broken all box office records on the opening day. According to the official figures, it has collected approx 52.25 crores on day 1 which is an all time record.
The film has run like a riot in all over India as it set the box office on fire. It recorded insane occupancies on day 1 especially in Delhi/UP where the opening was earth-shattering. Diwali is considering the biggest holiday from the box office perspective so a record opening was always on the cards. However, it has surpassed expectations and has set new benchmarks.
Thugs of Hindostan 1st day collection has easily broken the record of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. It has also recorded the highest single day collection of all time ( a record held by Sanju). The film also beat the records set by Baahubali 2 Hindi version.
Aamir Khan starrer has received negative reviews from critics and the audience response also seems to be mixed. It will be interesting to see how the film will fare after the opening weekend. From an economics perspective, the film has already generated profits despite the huge budget. However, it needs to collect 200 crores for emerging success at the box office.
