The film is also going to release in Telugu as Policeodu. Fans are super excited to watch Vijay in action once again. There are reports that the film has been made on a grand budget of approximately This is a very crucial film for the actor, who badly needs a hit after the debacle of Puli. Lets move on Theri review to find out if it lives up to the expectations.
The film is engaging from the first scene itself. The screenplay is very much in commonplace but entertaining in parts. Especially, the comedy scenes work well with the audiences in the first half. The initial portion of the drama, is lovely. The same goes for the pre-climax and the climax. The screenplay of the latter half is such that there is ample scope for action, which has been choreographed very well. However, the portion, where the main secret is revealed to the viewer, is not convincing at all. Moreover, the revelation is not even shocking to the audience as there already is a clue. In the later half emotions abound the script, but at most times, they fail to touch the heart. Multiplex audience may complain about logic and common sense.
Vijay is in his element througout the film. He makes you laugh with his comic timing and eccentric mannerisms. Overall, he does very well in the triple role. Amy Jackson is alright and does what is required of her.
On the whole, Theri is an entertaining film. You’ll enjoy it if you do not have too many expectations.
