The Jungle Book 1st Day Box Office Collection in India
The Hollywood fantasy-adventure film The Jungle Book has released today. In India, the movie is being released a week before its US release in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu languages. There is a strong buzz among audience across the country. Also, the film has been widely promoted by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, which has generated good pre-release hype about the movie.
As per the official figures, The Jungle Book 1st day box office collection in India will be in the range of 10.09 crores. The film has beaten Batman V Superman opening day collection to become the second highest opener of 2016 behind only Akshay Kumar’s Airlift.

Box Office Opening Report:
The Jungle Book was released in around 1650 screens. The film opened to a flying at the Indian box office. It recorded 45-50% occupancy on the morning shows (limited samples only) which is pretty good. It is the second best start of 2016 after Batman Vs Superman in terms of occupancy. But obviously, the screen count is less as compared to some other Bollywood films. The start is huge in South India, especially in Kerala and Karnataka. While in North India, it is below average. But luckily, the film is carrying terrific reports from everywhere.
In the morning, it looked like that film is heading for a 6-7 crore opening day. But there was huge growth in the evening shows as the family audience have a big turnaround. The Jungle Book 1st day collection is also the 3rd highest opening day for any Hollywood film. The previous two are Furious 7 and Avengers Age of Ultron.
