SS Rajamouli is gearing up for the much awaited release Baahubali: The Conclusion which is releasing in April. According to the latest reports, he has already marked his eyes on his next project, touted to be even grander.
Rajamouli had earlier expressed his keen interest in directing Mahabhatra trilogy. Last month there was a report that he is set to kick off a lavishly mounted trilogy based on the Mahabharata which is inspired by Peter Jackson’s blockbuster trilogy, Lord of the Rings.
The film will be scripted in 2018 and made over five-six years on a budget of Rs 400 crore, with the films being simultaneously shot in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi for a pan-India release. At that time he has revealed his plans to cast actors from the Hindi film industry as well as South stars.
And now there is a strong buzz down South that he will work with Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth, and Mohanlal. Aamir, incidentally, had expressed his interest in the project, a few months back, even going on to reveal Lord Krishna and Karna as his preferred characters.
With the three superstars being the highest grossing actors of their respective industries, and Rajamouli's track record, this could very well be the film of the millennium.
