If all goes well, Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor could be seen together in Russian producer Alexey Petruhin’s ambitious project titled VIY: Journey To India. Confirming that both actors have been approached by him for the project, Alexey told Indian express, “We have approached SRK to be the lead actor and also the co-producer of the film. We are awaiting confirmation from him. The another actor we have approached is Ranbir Kapoor. We want to bring SRK and Ranbir together.”

VIY: Journey to India will be the third installment of the VIY franchise. The second installment titled VIY 2: Journey to China has Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger co-starring in it. Talking about the film, Alexey said, “Journey to India is about bringing Russia and India together. It’s a big movie and the budget will be around 40 million US dollars. Elaborating on why he wants SRK in his film, the producer said, “We were looking for an actor who is like a leader in this industry with his own production house. Like from China, we signed Jackie Chan who is also a producer. So we have approached SRK and I am sure he will be interested in this type of project because it has world-class appeal and the film will be released all over the world.”

The film is described by Alexey as a mystic adventure thriller and he has plans to shoot it on locations in India and some parts of China. SRK has never featured in any of the international project nor does Ranbir.

  1. $40 million budget, I do not think SRK will agree to invest huge amount of money on one project, but If that happens, that will be amazing.. And SRK-RK together will be the biggest casting coup. hope it’s come true.

      • Yaar 260 cr is a very huge budget, it’s like Dhoom 3 + Shivaay… Agree that 2.0 is higher, but still this is a gigantic budget for indian cinema standards.

Anyway, I’m a big fan of both SRK and Ranbir but this project doesn’t seem promising…the previous film was not good at all.

  2. Viy had bad reviews all over the world. It only was a smash hit in Russia.
Why would they want to make a sequel of it ???
