Spectre and PRDP 2nd Friday Box Office Update:

This Friday, one Hindi film X: Past & Present and Hollywood’s Spectre were released.

Spectre has opened to excellent response at the box office. The occupancy in the morning shows was up to 35%. The opening was obviously better at multiplexes but single screens also has a decent start. The James Bond series is quite popular in India. The film also had its previews yesterday in some multiplexes. It has collected around 2.20 crore from previews only.

The last film in the series Skyfall collected around 47 crore in India. Spectre should easily cross its total in the first or second week.

PRDP 9th Day Collection Update:

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has also a good start on its second Friday. The occupancy was around 15-20% on its 9th day. Obviously the screens are less today. The film has strong hold in UP, Gujarat and other small centers. There was a perception that these circuits may fall after holidays. But surprisingly PRDP continues to dominate here.

On the other hand the film has almost finished its run in Punjab, Delhi and Bengal. These circuits have heavy falls on weekdays and the trend was poor. The film got the opening there due to presence of Salman and then dropped as the genre was not favourable there.

PRDP screen count in second week is around 1900. This is a good amount of screens to put up healthy numbers at the box office.

The new Hindi release X: Past & Present has opened to poor response. The film does not have a much of a competition but still the occupancy was very poor. The first day collection will be less than 15 lakhs. Washout
