Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha’s Ittefaq is going to release this Friday. The makers of the film held a press meet event today. Shahrukh Khan who is also the producer of Ittefaq, was also present there.
Talking about the upcoming movie, Shah Rukh said that he loved the original film. “When I was growing up, it was my mother’s favourite film. Rajesh Khanna and Nanda ji both were good. I found the story interesting. It is exciting for these two boys (Abhay and Kapil Chopra) to remake a classic.”
“I have done ‘Devdas,’ which would never be better than the classic (and) ‘Don’, which would never be better than Bachchan sahab’s (version). Somewhere down the line, (it is) just to reintroduce great cinema that perhaps passes the youngsters by. So ‘Ittefaq’ is another move in that line. Hopefully, youngsters will like it,” he added.
“What’s wrongly essayed is that it’s not a remake – the premise might be similar to the 1969 Ittefaq but the movie has taken a flight of its own.”
Ittefaq is jointly produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Helmed by first time director, Abhay Chopra, ‘Ittefaq’ stars Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. It is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name, which was directed by Yash Chopra.
