Sarainodu Movie Review: Sarainodu is an action masala Telugu film directed by Boyapati Srinu. The film features Allu Arjun and Rakul Preet Singh in the main lead. It will hit the screens on 22nd April 2016.
The pre-release buzz is pretty good. The makers have released a trailer of 90 seconds only which has been liked. Though the music has not become that popular. But the expectations are huge from this masala film. The producers of Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu have planned to release the movie in over 1,600 screens around the world on April 22. The movie has registered good advance booking everywhere.
Let’s move on to Sarainodu review to see if it lives up to the expectations.
As we all know Sarainodu is an action thriller and Allu Arjun is playing a security officer. As far as the story goes, it is just another ordinary film but what makes it special is the stylish action sequences. The script is largely unconvincing which has been the case with most of masala films. Not that we go watching masala entertainers expecting logic but still clever action doesn’t always guarantee a clever film. As already clear that logic isn’t what one of the things on the menu while you watch Sarrainodu, lapses like these make you guffaw in an immensely thrilling film.
But the film’s biggest problem is the romantic story. The audience hardly connects with this angle. The romantic track of this film barely has any space and is more distracting than appealing.
Another problem was the editing. At 2 hours 40 minutes, the film was relatively long. Give Boyapati Srinu the credit that it is so absorbing in both its witty and silly moments that you don’t quite feel the pangs of its length. It is a sleek film which is done in an old fashioned good vs evil way but Allu Arjun is fighting his nemesis is every bit satisfying. The screenplay besides these lapses is engrossing.
The music by S. Thaman is strictly average. Though the background score is pretty well and adds more thrill to the action. The cinematography by Rishi Punjabi is spot on. The production values are also high and it is a delight to watch the film on big screens just for that matter.
It was after a long time that Allu Arjun synced in a character this well as if it was written for him. He has completely nailed the role especially in action sequences. His dance moves are to die for.
Catherine Tresa does well in her role. Rakul Preet Singh barely has a presence in the film. Its high time she really needs to raise the bar of the roles she accepts.
On the whole Sarainodu is a masala action thriller with loads of entertainment. It is a delight for masses. It isn’t a great film but also not entirely forgettable.
