There were reports suggesting that Irrfan Khan and Randeep were being considered for the part and it seems that the latter has now bagged the role.
There have been tons of speculations about Sarabjit Singh’s biopic, which is being directed by Mary Kom director Omung Kumar. The story is based on farmer Sarabjit’s incident, who crossed the India- Pakistan border in an intoxicated state and got mistaken for a spy. As a result, he spent 23 years in prison and passed away in captivity. A few days back it was confirmed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been roped in to play Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. The important question however was, who will play the protagonist Sarabjit? There were reports suggesting that Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda were being considered for the part. A leading entertainment daily now reports that Randeep has been confirmed for the role.
It would be rather interesting to see Aishwarya and Randeep playing on-screen siblings, for the first time. They have an extremely tragic story to tell and we bet the two stars will work wonders on the big screen. Aishwarya is currently working towards her much awaited film, Jazbaa.
