Raees Total Box Office Collection and Verdict: Raees was a delayed film yet it had an excellent buzz before the release. The film performed well at the box office too and emerged a success.
However, it has fallen short of expectations. Especially after the excellent opening, the lifetime collection should have been higher. Still it has emerged as the highest grosser of January. It says a lot about the stardom of SRK as even his underperformers are breaking records. The film also had a clash with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil and has comfortably beaten it. The gap is more than 100 crore at the worldwide box office.
Now coming to the non-theatrical recovery, Raees satellite rights were sold to Zee in 45 crore. Further 20 crore was recovered from music and other merchandising. Red Chillies also signed a deal with Netflix in about 45 crore which will allow them access to stream their movies. All India theatrical rights were sold to AA Films in 70 cr while Zee purchased the overseas rights in 30 cr.
Thus it was a highly profitable venture for the producers as they will earn more than 180 crore.
