Actor and director Neeraj Vora has passed away at a suburban Mumbai hospital at 4 am on Thursday. He was 54 and was last seen in Welcome Back released in 2015.
Vora had been severely ill after suffering a heart attack, which was followed by a brain stroke in Delhi last year. He was admitted to AIIMS in the capital, but later slipped into coma.
As his condition didn’t show any signs of improvement, producer Firoz Nadiadwala, for whom Vora had written Hera Pheri and directed Phir Hera Pheri, airlifted him to Mumbai in March. Since then Vora has been living at Nadiadwala’s home with several doctors regularly visiting him.
Some of his other notable works include directing Akshay Kumar starrer Khiladi 420, writing for Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal and acting in films like Bol Bachchan, Dhadkan, Pukar, Rangeela among others.
