October Day 1 Box Office Collection Update: Varun Dhawan’s October has a slow start at the box office. Though this was expected as the pre-release buzz was on the lower side. The film will heavily depend on the evening growth as it is more of a metro film.
October had a controlled release as the screen count is 1683. The film has opened to around 15% occupancy in the morning shows. This is the lowest opener for a Varun Dhawan starrer. There were few takers for the film in masses and had an average opening in metros.
Varun Dhawan is considered a commercial hero and his core fan following is among the masses. But October seems like a niche film which is mainly for the class audience. Hence the film has opened slow but can pick up the pace in the later half of the day.
October is made on a budget of approx 40 crores and has already recovered a good amount from non-theatrical recovery. But the film has to work at the box office to be called a success.
