Subhash Kapoor retains some gems from his original, Saurabh Shukla (Judge Tripathy) and Sanjay Mishra (Guruji). Akshay Kumar as a lawyer is handsome and funny even in his not-so-fashionable avatar. If you are an Akshay Kumar fan, you might enjoy Jolly LLB 2. But if you watched this film coz you loved Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB then there are chances that you’ll walk out disappointed.
Jolly LLB 2 Review by Koimoi
Akshay Kumar fans and Jolly LLB fans both will be satisfied with this film that has a mix of comedy, emotion and some serious commentary on judiciary system. Jolly LLB 2 is entertaining as well as hard hitting. Saurabh Shukla is a stunner while Akshay is once again at his best. A 3/5 for this film.
Jolly LLB 2 Review by Indian Express
Akshay Kumar’s film is a pure win. It has a solid plot, a strong sense of time and place and rhythm, and a message that is delivered without sanctimony. Jolly LLB 2 is a cracking watch, despite its few squelchy parts. Aur yeh lock kiya jaaye, mi’lord.
Jolly LLB 2 Review by Times of India
Akshay changes shades from crooked to straight, like a chameleon. In top-form, he puts up a perfect display of a street-smart lawyer who hasn’t read legal tomes but who has instead picked up tips from courtroom corridors to become Jolly LLB. Huma and Annu are also compelling enough. It is the fine display of histrionics by all these refined actors, which makes the movie, worth seeing.
Jolly LL B 2 Review by Firstpost
Jolly LLB 2, as it turns out, is a mixed bag. The references to the Kashmir conflict and Hindu-Muslim tensions are impressive because the film raises these crucial issues without being in your face about them. The basic outline of the story is teeming with potential. When it’s good, Jolly LLB 2 is pretty moving. Sadly, the patchy treatment leaves it sagging too often. Jolly LLB 2 has its moments, but it ain’t no Jolly LLB.
Jolly LLB 2 Review by Hindustan Times
The friendly banter between a Kanpur migrant and a Lucknow lawyer are fun to watch. The problems faced by a Delhi judge in Lucknow are funny. But the use of local slang sometimes looks forced and the film does away with the innocence of Jolly LLB (2013), in order to become a tearjerker. The ploy doesn’t work. But all is well that ends well. And Akshay Kumar ensures that you keep laughing at regular intervals. He makes you remember Warsi, but also adds his touch to Jolly.

Needless to add, the jocose judge of State vs Jolly LLB 2, written-directed by Subash Kapoor, is the show-stealer of the second edition of the thodasa jolly ho jaaye franchise. Niiice. The BIG question though is whether the encore piece is as compelling and cracklingly crisp as the first outing of Jollywood. Nope, sob and sigh, it isn’t. However, if you’re the sort who abhors odious comparisons, here’s a 148-minuter which is surely a notch or two above the commonplace. After all, it has something purposeful to state, besides moving at a fairly brisk clip. Hurray, hip hip.
Jolly LLB 2 Review by Bollywood Hungama
On the whole, JOLLY LLB 2 comes across as a powerful courtoom drama which is laced with humour as well as emotions. With Akshay Kumar’s star power, positive word of mouth and almost zero competition at the box office, JOLLY LLB 2 has the potential to grow huge at the box office. A must watch.
