The year 2016 has proved to be an average as far the initial was concerned. This week’s release Dear Zindagi has fared well on the opening day as it has recorded the 13th highest opening day of 2016.
The film is ahead of another Alia starrer Kapoor and Sons though SRK factor has boosted Dear Zindagi collection. It is lower than Udta Punjab which was boosted by controversy. The collections are in the same range as Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro. Dear Zindagi had a controlled release in around 1200 screens.
Salman Khan’s Sultan was the only film of 2016 which had a bumper opening.
