Footfalls means the estimated number of tickets sold to the public for admission to a Film. It is also the number of people who have watched the film.
These figures cannot be 100% accurate. But we believe that these are very much close to the actual data.

Some old films like Sholay, Maine Pyar Kiya etc will definitely make into this list. But their figures are not available.
Gadar has higher footfalls than HAHK but its collections are lower, even though it was released after 6 years. The reason is Gadar was a huge hit in smaller centeres where ticket prices were low. The same goes for Raja Hindustani too.
You can see that the footfalls of today’s biggest blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK have failed to even come close to the yesteryears. There are several reasons why footfalls at theatres have reduced in the last decade or so. These factors include other entertainment options, higher ticket prices and piracy.
