Hero Movie Review 2015:
Hero is an upcoming romantic action film directed by Nikhil Advani. It stars Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the lead roles who are making their debut. It is produced by Salman Khan. Hero is scheduled to release on 11 September 2015.
Hero is a remake of 1983 classic of the same name starring Jackie Shroff. Though the film features newcomers yet some big names attached to the film like Salman Khan, Subhash Gai and Nikhil Advani has raised our expectations.
Let's move on to the Hero review to find out if it lives up to the expectations. This is only a short review.
Ironically, when a star-kid takes his first step in Bollywood, his launch pad, intuitively, is designed as a love story. Sooraj Pancholi's debut vehicle Hero is no exception. The film has the same typical story which has been told many times before. Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi) is a gangster who is living in Mumbai. One day he is asked to kidnap the daughter of police chief Radha (Athiya Shetty). He tells Radha that he is a police officer and has been asked by his father to take her out of city due to security reasons. Later on Radha finds out that she has been kidnapped. As luck would have it, they both fell in love with each other. This leads to the series of dreadful events that changed their life completely.
If you begin to dissect the plotline, a really slim plot emerges which carries no validation to it. Though Sooraj and Athiya's love story does really have good moments. The film’s tonality is more or less flat. The film is engaging in the first half but it loses its pace in the second half.
After giving a series of flops, Nikhil Advani will be hoping to change hist fate with Hero. He brings all his tropes to the table -- ample twists, turns and melodrama, striking action pieces, ear-pleasing music, eye-filling locales and of course, the crackling chemistry of the lead pair. But probably the film has been let down by its screenplay. The action sequences are pictured well. The editing could have been much better. The music has already become a chartbuster and does provide relief in the film.
As for performances are concerned, Sooraj Pancholi has done a reasonable job. His action sequences are delight to watch. Though his dialogue delivery is not good. Athiya Shetty looks cute but needs to improve her acting skills.
On the whole Hero is a decent entertainer having chartbuster music and stunning action sequences.
