Dilwale Sunday Box Office Collection (3rd Day):
The early trends suggest that Dilwale has a better start on its 3rd day. The film had varied performance at different circuits.
It seems that film has suffered big time due to the clash. And it is Bajirao Mastani who has benefited from it. If the film did not pick up today in North then there are tough times coming for it.
We expected that film will open to packed houses today as it is a holiday. Though the film has better occupancy than yesterday but still it should have been better. The overall occupancy was 60-65%. As expected, it has the best start in West Bengal and South but Bajirao Mastani is quickly covering the gap here. The film did pick up in Mumbai but it is nowhere close to BM. North India remained below average.
The film will grow from here but it should do more than normal growth in under-performing circuits to recover the damage done in last two days there. The advance booking is good and the shows are going smoothly so far.
But the trend for Dilwale is not looking good. Mostly the big films run in their full swing on its first Sunday. The film has to turn the tables around today otherwise writing is on the wall.
Dilwale has witnessed very good growth in the noon shows. The occupancy has gone as higher as 80%. The single screens were practically housefull at most of places. This is very good considering that film is clashing with Bajirao Mastani which is also doing superb business. But it has to hold excellent in the evening now.
The film has continued its excellent run in the afternoon shows. Today the occupancy was the best in last three days in single screens. So it is expected that today's collection will be better than last two days.
The evening shows have gone really well for the film with minimal drops. It has crossed Bajirao in the evening shows in terms of occupancy. There was no cancellation of shows today. So Dilwale is running to its full potential. It is heading for an excellent Sunday. The combined collection of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani will cross 40 crore today. And and now it has all come down to the hold on Monday.
