Note: Sultan is going to release in just about 5 days. We will be sharing some of the records that Sultan has the potential to break.
We all know highest opening day record belongs to Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year. Salman’s PRDP come close to break that record last year on Diwali. Currently, only these two films have crossed 40 cr mark.
Coming back to Sultan, it is carrying extraordinary buzz and hype. The controversies like Arijit Singh apology or Salman’s rape women comment will have a zero effect on the collections as far opening is concerned. If the film released on Eid day, 40+ opening day is on the cards but it will be interesting to see how far it can go further. Some sources claim that Sultan is not a complete commercial film and mainly relies on the content. Eid is a big holiday still the word of mouth can play an important part in the evening. In that case, 40 cr will be considered as an excellent number.
However if the Eid falls on 7th July, then it will have no chance to break HNY record and will be targeting 30+ cr on its first day.
