The first half of 2019 has almost gone and it has been a mixed bag so far. There have been some surprise hits though a huge blockbuster is missing.
The highest grosser of 2019 belongs to Hollywood’s Avengers Endgame which grossed a massive 372 crores. While from Bollywood, it is Uri The Surgical Strike which was a huge surprise. Salman Khan’s Bharat comes at number 3 which is still running in theatres. It will gross approx 200 crores in lifetime which is below expectations.
Then comes the next big grossers Kesari, Total Dhamaal, Gully Boy and De De Pyaar De which had a a decent response from audience and managed good business due to the star power of actors. Small films like Lukka Chuppi and Badla also surprised.
The big disappointments were Student of The Year 2 and Kalank, both Dharam productions were released with big expectations but the outcome was poor.
