Riteish Deshmukh starrer Banjo has a poor start at the box office. That was already anticipated as there were low buzz and hype before the release.
Banjo opened to around 12% occupancy in the morning shows. The start was better in Maharashtra due to the local flavour. However, it had a poor opening in all over India. In Delhi, morning shows at a couple of multiplexes were cancelled due to the no audience. There seems to be a limited growth only in some circuits. As per the early trends, Banjo 1st day collection will be in the range of 2.25-2.5 crore.
Mostly such films don't have a chance to score in West Bengal and East India. It should have clicked in North India and Maharashtra belt however that has not happened on the opening day. It would have done better if the film was released in Marathi.
Days of Tafree also opened very poorly however it is better than expectations. It looked like a complete washout however now it will be able to collect under 1 crore. Parched has limited screening but still have a poor opening.
From the holdover releases, Pink continues to rule at the box office on 2nd Friday. The occupancy was even higher than opening day though the screen count was reduced. Still, it seems to collect over 3 crore which will be better than all new releases. Emraan Hashmi's Raaz Reboot has crashed today.
