Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is one of the most awaited movies of the year and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has left no stone unturned in designing the sets.
Having spent a huge amount on just the sets of the film, he has made sure to make it larger than life. And now the reports are that Bhansali has recreated the set of ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, which is considered to be one of the most expensive sets till date. The Aena Mahal has become the second most expensive set after ‘Mughal-e-Azam’s.
Designed by Sujit Sriram and Saloni, it took 45 days for the set to be prepared.
Over 20,000 intricately designed mirrors have been used which were handpicked from Jaipur. Also special karigars (workers) were called in from the city to prepare it. The massive set measures 12,500 sq feet and one angle of the frame reflects in the 20,000 mirrors. Apart from this, the set also consists of 13 chandeliers.
