Ajay Devgn’s film Son of Sardaar that was a comedy, was released in 2012. Now three years on, we hear that the actor producer will be making a sequel to the film titled Sons of Sardaar 2. However, the interesting bit about the sequel is that unlike the original that was a comedy, the sequel will be based on a real life story that has an important reference in Indo-British history.

In fact we hear that the ambitious magnum-opus is being touted to be on the lines of Hollywood historical action thrillers for which the actor has chosen a tale which resounds of grandeur in its unparalleled tryst in history. As for the story, it is learnt from reliable sources that Sons Of Sardaar 2 is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi which was fought before the Tirah Campaign on September 12, 1897 between 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment) of British India, defending an army post, and more than 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.

Actor Ajay Devgn wrote, “Need ur best wishes for Sons Of Sardaar, will match the scale of Hollywood war film 300 and based on epic Battle of Saragarhi. Diwali 2017.”

As for the film, Ajay Devgn will commence work on Sons of Sardaar 2 once he completes his directorial venture Shivaay, that is slated to go on floor this December. Son Of Sardaar 2 is expected to release on Diwali 2017.
