The much awaited thriller Airlift has got clearance from censor board. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles.

The film has got U/A certificate by CBFC. The runtime is around 2 hours and 4 minutes. The duration of the film is a plus point as it is a thriller. The sources from censor board has revealed that they have loved the film. The film is based on patriotism and will connect big time to Indians.

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, this edge-of-the-seat thriller, is based on a true story of the biggest ever human evacuation in the world that holds a Guinness World Record. On August 2, 1990 when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, 1,70,000 Indians were rendered homeless and bankrupt. There was however, one hero, Ranjit Katyal (Akshay), who risked his own life and that of his family to help evacuate his fellow Indians.

Airlift will hit the screens on 22 January 2016.
